What we do in class: Students sing a welcome song, followed by a warm up routine. Several song and dance routines are performed – varying between regular favourites plus new tunes each week. Then the class move onto topic work, including a topical poem which children repeat with actions.
Students regularly visit the "dressing up" box to improvise scenes (e.g. going on holiday, getting on a bus, eating an icecream!). The class ends with more dance and the goodbye song.
Parents are not allowed to sit in class and they must be over the age of three. If your child can’t be left then we can recommend our Tiny Tutus dance class which is for parents and children on Thursdays.
APOLLO CLASS: 4 - 6 yrs
What we do in class: Students are trained in performing arts subject, playing particular attention to the stage and encouraging children to become familiar with the theatre.
During topic time, children may learn about the art of mime and understanding rhythm. Activities include playing instruments in little bands and performing rhythms to the class. During story time, students relay the story in mime to the rest of the group.
Our young students gain confidence by sharing their stories with the class, remembering the actions and words to the songs and engaging in group and solo work.
